Consultancy

We provide consultancy services to governments and NGOs in the health sector, as well as universities and associations. We have particular knowledge and interest in public health, mental health and the health of disadvantaged groups.

Our consultancy services include:

  • strategic communications
  • change management
  • education programs for consumers and professionals
  • health promotion
  • getting research into policy
  • getting policy into practice.

We develop a project team to meet each client's specific needs. Our project management skills ensure that our work is delivered on time and on budget, whether it's a small scale or long-term project. And our personal approach makes working with us easy and enjoyable.

Research and evaluation are integral to RaggAhmed's work. Some projects require us to develop an evidence base or conduct a formal literature review. Or we might recommend focus group research, in-depth interviews or online surveys to inform the development of a communications strategy. We offer experience in developing implementation plans and evaluation frameworks.

Mental health matters

Mental illness is as common as cancer and cardiovascular disease, affecting nearly one in two Australians. Our new report Mental health matters shows that it has an enormous impact on society. It often starts in adolescence and many people affected get little or no mental health care.

With a foreword written by Professor Pat McGorry AO from The University of Melbourne, the report demonstrates the difficulties people living with mental illness face in plain language and accessible graphs.

Mental health matters is the second report in RaggAhmed's snapshot series that addresses issues of public interest. Our first was Fine, but not fair.

NSW Institute of Psychiatry fellowship

Tanya Ahmed, RaggAhmed principal, has recently been awarded a fellowship in leadership, advocacy and management from the NSW Institute of Psychiatry. Her primary role will be to provide support and leadership for staff who are addressing smoking in NSW mental health services.

Tanya will also have opportunities to gain experience in many leadership and management functions of both the chief psychiatrist and local health network administrators.
